Talking about past activities (corrected)

Hi everybody,

This time around I'd like you to practice the new tense we discussed in class by playing a quick interactive game. Choose the correct answer for each question and then play some basketball to get points.

Good luck

Confirming information about table manners

Hi everybody,

As we are practicing the use of tag questions I think you can confirm some information about table manners in USA taking a quiz.

Look at the following uncomplete tag questions. First complete them and then take the quiz to find the answers to the questions. Post a comment with the complete questions and the answers to them.

Tag questions:

   1. In USA people normally say 'please', 'thank you', and 'excuse me' during meals,          _________?

   2. In USA people can start eating as soon as they sit down at the table, ___________?

   3. It is OK to reach across the table to reach a dish, ___________?

   4. When eating in USA you should try new foods, ____________?

   5. It is not OK to ask for “seconds” when being at a dinner, ___________?

Worldwide Etiquette

Hi everybody,

Here is our first post for this blog that I hope will help you practice the topics we study in class. This time around I found a very interesting site that will help you learn a little more about etiquette in different countries around the world in terms of tipping, dinning, gestures and things you should and should not do when visiting these countries.

I want you to visit the site and pick a couple of countries, read the information given and post a comment about a manner or custom you learned about and didn't know before.

Here is the link to site: Worldwide Etiquette

Good luck!
